Urban Meyer Has Had A Difficult Start To The Season, To Say The Least
By Daniel Godley - October 5, 2021

The Jackson Jaguar’s new coach Urban Meyer is in hot water just four weeks into this first professional football season. With a team that’s currently at 4 losses and no wins, Meyer is facing mounting pressure and the rumour is that he’s not dealing with the stress particularly well. Reports have been leaked of Meyer having difficulty adapting to the NFL culture as well controlling his temper when dealing with staffers. Suffice to say that the college coach turned NFL coach has not had an easy transition.

During a recent match in Ohio, Meyer declined to leave with the team and instead stayed in the state to visit family. A head coach not leaving with the team is unusual, to say the least, and frequently is a sign of discontent within the team. Things got worse for Meyer when he was spotted at his restaurant, Urban Meyer’s Pint House,  over the weekend dancing with a young woman. The interaction was filmed and uploaded where it quickly went viral online.

Following the popular clip of his bar antics, Meyer held a conference with reported where he expressed remorse to both his team and his family. “I just apologized to the team and staff for being a distraction,” Meyer said to ESPN. “Just stupid, and so I explained everything that happened and owned it. Just stupid. Should not have put myself in that kind of position.”

The following day team owner Shad Khan put out a statement, calling out Meyer’s but also insisting that he has every faith the head coach will do better in representing himself and the team and rebuilding the trust that was lost.

With so much unfolding and rumours of closed-door discussions, it’s currently unclear just what the future holds for Meyer and the Jaguars.
