Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 27 participant Bryan Mitchell took to social media this week to detail an injury he suffered while performing construction work.

According to Mitchell, also known as “Thug Nasty”, an electric drill he was carrying in his front pocket unexpectedly went off, grabbing a hold of his testicles, and ripping them in half.

Mitchell further explained his reasons for missing upcoming training. IN a tweet, he wrote, “So I was gonna train today but I ripped my nutsack in half. I’m about to get stitched up. I was holdn a board over my head with a drill n my pants. i was sizing up the board n the drill went off n tangled my nuts up in it.”

The MMA fighter further explained that he reversed the drill and untangled his scrotum from the power tool.

The undefeated (10-0. 1-0 UFC) Featherweight demonstrated his sense of humor despite the horrific situation, though it’s safe to say his road to recovery and timetable for a return could be lengthy.

” I obviously can’t post a pic, but when my nuts r sealed back up ima come train again. I think a high kick would re-rip them haha,” Mitchell stated in his tweet.

Mitchell joins UFC fighter Tony Ferguson in this year’s bizarre injuries. Ferguson himself went on Twitter to elaborate in an April statement, saying “As I was completing my UFC pre-fight media obligations on Friday I had an accident on a studio set that tore a ligament in my knee.”

Mitchell made his mark on TUF 27, defeating Jay Cuccinello before having his run ended by Brad Katona, who went on to win the season. Mitchell then went on to compete at TUF: “Undefeated” Finale, defeating Tyler Diamond via unanimous decision.
