Tom Brady walks away from interview after Guerrero questions

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady apparently has a line he won’t cross when it comes to interview questions and its name is Alex Guerrero, Brady’s personal trainer and friend.

According to an ESPN report, during an interview on sports radio WEEI on Monday morning, Brady was presented with that line several times. The first time, he was asked by host Kirk Minihane whether Guerrero was once again traveling with the team to road games, which he was banned from doing for the second half of last season.

“Yeah, he was with me this last week,” Brady responded. ” So, yeah.”

Minihane then asked Brady what transpired last season that led to Guerrero not being allowed to travel with the team, and suddenly the switch flipped.

“You know, I don’t want to, I’m not getting into all that,” Brady snapped.

The line had clearly been crossed, but Minihane continued on anyway, next asking Brady about head coach Bill Belichick’s relationship with Guerrero and if the reported rift between the two had been overblown by the media.

“I said I don’t want to get into it,” Brady said. “Everyone knows, it’s well documented the work he and I do together.”

Minihane, again, refused to back down and pressed Brady once more about Guerrero:  “I’m just trying to figure out because I saw the reports this weekend that he was traveling with the team. Was he on the sideline Friday?” Minihane asked.

And that was pretty much all she wrote.

“Yeah, all right guys, have a great day. I’ll talk to you later,” Brady said, before reportedly piercing the dead air with a loud click and a dial tone.

Brady’s had adverse reactions to the Guerrero line of questioning before. After wide receiver Julian Edelman received a four-game suspension this offseason for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy, Brady was asked by reporters at training camp in July about a reported link between Guerrero and Edelman.

“I have no comment. That’s just ridiculous. I’m out. See you guys,” Brady said, before picking up his helmet and walking off.
