QB's With the Most Career Passing Yards
By Laura Lee - June 20, 2022

There are a few other veteran quarterbacks available right now, beginning with Tom Brady, who will start next season at 45. Brady and other quarterbacks have been in the NFL for a significant period, so they have undoubtedly accumulated a lot of throwing yards. So, here are the current NFL quarterbacks with the highest career passing yards.

Derek Carr started his NFL with the Oakland Raiders in 2014 and has been the team’s primary quarterback ever since. Carr has been healthy throughout his career, so he has 31,700 career-throwing yards. Carr had a career-high 4,804 passing yards last season and a passer rating above 100 in 2019 and 2020. So it’s fair to assume Derek Carr is now at the pinnacle of his career.

Cam Newton was the first overall choice in the 2011 draft, and while he has yet to win a title, he has arguably lived up to expectations. He was voted the Associated Press MVP of the 2015 season and is a three-time Pro Bowler. His career, however, has suffered after his injury in 2019. Newton has 32,382 throwing yards despite only having one season with more than 4,000 yards. Newton would have more throwing yards if he weren’t one of the finest running quarterbacks.

Joe Flacco has 41,269 passing yards, 61.7 percent pass completions, 227 touchdown passes, and an 84.2 rating in 14 NFL seasons. Flacco had a tremendous start to his career with the Baltimore Ravens, winning Super Bowl XLVII with an excellent postseason performance. On the other hand, Joe Flacco was never among the greatest quarterbacks in the league, never led the league in any metric, never made a Pro Bowl, and his talents dropped soon after winning the ring.Aaron Rodgers has performed at an inhuman level for the past two seasons, which is why he is one of only four players in NFL history to win back-to-back AP MVP honors. Rodgers gained 8,414 yards in the previous two seasons, bringing his career total to 55,360. Rodgers also has a career QB rating of 104.5 and 449 touchdown passes. Aaron Rodgers is undoubtedly one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
