An NBA contender might be trying to lure Steph Curry away from the Warriors.

According to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report, an unnamed team will attempt to steal Curry away from the Warriors if his relationship with Kevin Durant makes Golden State untenable.

Curry is coming into the final year of a four year $44 million dollar contract with Golden State, making him the fourth highest player on the team.

His role with the team, added to the fact that they have had so much recent success, makes it unlikely that Curry will leave the only team that he has played for during his NBA career.

Bucher added that the team believes that Durant will take over the mantle from Curry of being the best player on the Warriors next season, possibly frustrating the two time league MVP.

“Come to us and you can be the man once more,” reported Bucher of the team pitch to Curry in an interview with Colin Cowherd.

NBA commentators have remarked that the likelihood of Curry and Durant getting caught up on who takes the shots is low.

In reports, after the signing of Durant, Curry texted his fellow MVP.

“According to a person who saw the text messages, Curry told Durant in a text message that he could care less about who is the face of the franchise, who gets the most recognition or who sells the most shoes (Curry is with Under Armor, Durant with Nike),” wrote journalist, Marc J Spears.
