Green Bay Packers tight end, Martellus Bennett, is looking to learn the language of his new quarterback.

Bennett, a National Football League Pro Bowler, won a Super Bowl in his first year with the New England Patriots. It did not take him long to make a connection with three separate quarterbacks in his first year with the franchise. He finished the year with 55 receptions for 701 yards and a career high seven touchdowns, three of which he caught in the season premiere of the suspended Tom Brady. Now Bennett is trying to create chemistry with new quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. Bennett signed with the Packers on a three year, $21 million contract.

“When I was talking to Aaron the last couple of days, it’s really about communication and a lot of our communication on the field is going to be non-verbal, just understanding each other’s body language, so just getting in and just conversing about each day and making sure we’re on the same page. “That’s like the biggest thing for me,” said Bennett on Tuesday. “I learned a lot from Tom last year about how to communicate even better with the quarterback. And from Jon Kitna to Tony Romo to Eli [Manning] to [Jay] Cutler, I speak several different quarterback languages, so I’ve just got to learn which one speaks to Aaron.”

The Packers also signed tight ends Lance Kendricks and Richard Rodgers.

“All of us are a little bit different, so it will be interesting to see how I’m utilized this year,” said Bennett.
