Cleveland Cavaliers head coach, Tyronn Lue, said he does not want star, LeBron James, to change his free throw motion.

James has faced criticism for his non-stellar free throw shooting because it hampers him in the final moments of games. James shot a career low 67.4 percent from the free throw line during the 2017 regular season. That is a noticeable drop from his 73.1 percent clip in 2016. James consulted sharpshooting teammate, Kyle Korver, to help him fix his form.

“Myself and Kyle, we kind have been brainstorming about it, how to get it to be more efficient,” said James of working with Korver after Game One. “I mean, honestly, Kyle is probably one of the most efficient guys we have from the free throw line on our team. So I’m a basketball mind, I’m open-minded about trying to figure out ways that can help my efficiency, so it’s a good start.”

Coach, Tyronn Lue, however, said that he does not want LeBron to change his free throw motion. He spoke before Game Two of the Cavaliers series with the Indiana Pacers about LeBron having confidence in the motion he uses now.

“I mean, I think he’s a decent free throw shooter,” said Lue in reference to James. “I just think, don’t change. You’re the best player in the world, do what you do, have confidence doing it — that’s it. But he’s either going to miss or make them, but don’t keep changing. So what?”
