Kevin Durant said that it is now dawning on him that he is a Golden State Warrior.

“Now here, having my jersey on, seeing all my teammates, it’s real,” said Durant at Warriors media day. “I’m ready to go, ready to play.”

Having another league Most Valuable Player and scoring champion is dawning on the Warriors as well. One time NBA Finals MVP, Andre Iguodala, says that the Warriors needed to add Durant. According to Iguodala, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers exposed holes in the game of a Warriors team that set records for wins in a single regular season.

“We’ve got a monster who fills them all. It’s going to be fun to watch him play. There won’t be too many weaknesses with a guy like that,” said Iguodala in reference to Durant. “I’ve never seen a guy enjoy playing the game as much as Kevin with such a high level of talent.”

“I’ve seen him defend at a really, really high level. He has all the intangibles and natural gifts that can’t be taught to be a great defender,” continued Iguodala.

Durant also said that he is eager to play in the Warriors style. Many NBA analysts believed that Durant left his Oklahoma City Thunder team because they had him playing too much one on one basketball. The Warriors are known for their ball movement and creating easy shots for players.

“I’m relying on [Golden State Warriors] Coach Kerr putting me in positions to help the team be successful,” said Durant. “Nothing’s changed at my end except for my jersey.”
