The husband of UFC fighter Andrea Lee is being sought by police in Louisiana on charges that include domestic violence.

According to MMA Fighting, an arrest warrant is forthcoming for Donny Aaron on  false imprisonment and domestic violence battery charges stemming from an incident that occurred late night Aug. 4 into the early morning hours of Aug. 5. Shreveport Police officers reportedly responded to a call of a domestic incident involving two people on Aug. 5.

MMA fighter Andy Nguyen, who lives with Aaron and Lee, told police she witnessed a heated argument between the two in which Aaron tried to burn Lee’s arm and body with a cigarette and also tried to choke her.

“He was trying to choke her, but she was defending herself well,” Nguyen’s statement read. “She didn’t get beat up bad. The police did take pictures of marks on her neck. Wasn’t bad this time. No black eyes or anything but he has hit her before. I just wasn’t there. He was my coach and my friend. This was the first time this was in [my] presence and I was not going to let this fly. The domestic violence has been going on for years. I just never saw it.”

Nguyen also told authorities that Lee and Aaron had been arguing all week and Aaron would not let her leave the house. Police said Lee sustained minor injuries in the attack. A weapon was also used in the alleged attack, according to the police report.

“I didn’t call the cops until it got physical and I couldn’t do nothing anymore,” she wrote.

A former police officer and current MMA coach, Aaron, 43, has a long history of violence. He was reortedly found guilty in 2009 of negligent homicide with a firearm after shooting a man, Ronald Jamison, multiple times and killing him after an altercation near Aaron’s home. While he was awaiting trial for that crime in 2007, he was arrested and jailed on a battery charge after allegedly attacking his ex-wife’s fiancé.

Lee, 29, is a flyweight fighter from Texas who has won five-consecutive MMA bouts.
