The debacle in part makes Chicago the last major league team this year to hold its home opener. The Cubs opened the season with a 5-4 road trip to Miami, Cincinnati, and Milwaukee.
The Chicago Cubs team told NBC Chicago that the game is scheduled to occur at 1:20 p.m. CT tomorrow afternoon, with the preceding ceremony for the first home game set to begin around 12:45 p.m. The team also stated that all tickets for the Monday date will be honored at the field on Tuesday.
The winter scene at Wrigley caused the major league’s 11th game postponement due to weather so far this season. About 10 miles to the south, the White Sox were hosting the Tampa Bay Rays hosting a game the same day that had been delayed briefly by the snowy conditions
