Cristiano Ronaldo Throws Tantrum Following Portugal Loss
By Alexandra Wade - November 15, 2021

Cristiano Ronaldo was understandably and visibly displeased at the result of the Portugal national team after they lost 2-1 to Serbia on Sunday night. The result sees the Portugal team missing out on automatic qualification for the 2022 World Cup and they will now have to compete for qualification in the playoffs of the group.

Following the poor performance of the team, Ronaldo could be seen having what has been described as a tantrum. The star player sat on the pitch and sulked, threw off his captain armband, and looked to be holding off tears before he stormed off and started arguing loudly with the team manager, Fernando Santos.

“The truth is that we did not have a good performance overall, therefore, we have to say sorry. The Portuguese people are obviously sad. Not more than us, but just like us.”

Santos went on to add, “but my team will be at the Qatar World Cup. That is guaranteed. We just have to compete in the play-offs which is not common for us.”
