By Marc Gordon - April 29, 2022

If you are just hearing about Major league soccer first of all where have you been and second of all it might surprise you to learn that there are twenty-eight teams that participate in the league. And this list continues to grow every year, there is even a team that has joined this year as well as one scheduled to join the league next year. While it would be lovely to be able to list every club, this will only be a short introduction to these teams and we do not have the time but we will be listing some of the older teams in the league.

The New England Revolution from Foxborough, Massachusetts whose home stadium is the Gillette Stadium joined in 1996, also in 1996, we have the Columbus Crew from Columbus, Ohio whose home stadium is the Lower.com Field. Then we have D.C. United from Washington, D.C. whose home stadium is the Audi Field,  After that, we have the New York Red Bulls from Harrison, New Jersey, whose home stadium is the Red Bull Arena, the  Colorado Rapids from Commerce City, Colorado whose home stadium is the Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. We have many more that we could list here but let’s move on to the later entries.

Moving forward to the 2000s we have the Houston Dynamo FC from Houston, Texas whose home stadium is the PNC Stadium. Next, we have the Real Salt Lake from Sandy, Utah whose home stadium is the Rio Tinto Stadium, then the Seattle Sounders FC from Seattle, Washington whose home stadium is the Lumen Field. After that, we have the Philadelphia Union from Chester, Pennsylvania whose home stadium is Subaru Park. While this is just a taste of what the league actually looks like and there are so many more teams that have joined.
