Last season showed high-scoring stats in average score, total points, and even passing touchdowns. A bit of strangeness is happening with the draft, but Commissioner Roger Goodell being on stage made it a bit more normal. Here are the highlights:

• From the big prospects to the smaller ones, one thing’s clear: the selection shows that tossing the pigskin around in the NFL is nothing like the yesteryears.
• The top three slots of this year were quarterbacks, such as Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Trey Lance who the NFL wants to take from college football and put them in the league.
• These days it’s more about passing than rushing, so it’s no surprise that only two running backs and one guard made it to the first round.
• For the past two decades, the direction has shifted for high-flying offenses rather than hard hits that make you wince at the screen.
• The quarterbacks are where the money’s at. Instead of waiting to build the ultimate team, it’s better to bank on a great quarterback who’s able to turn around a team in an instant.
• Tom Brady was a clear example of this change in momentum with what he was able to do with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only were they able to win their first playoff game in 18 years, but he led them to win their second Superbowl. 
• The biggest rumor right now is whether quarterback Aaron Rodgers will stay with the Green Bay Packers after 15 years. Packers GM Brian Gutekunst says they won’t trade him but time will tell with what happens.
