“Now that we got KD, I can say it: They were the best team last year in the league in the playoffs,” remarked Iguodala on Wednesday. “They were better than us. They were better than Cleveland. They were the best team in the playoffs. They should’ve won a championship.”
Golden State Warriors forward, Andre Iguodala, said that the Cleveland Cavaliers were not the best team last year.
In an interview with Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club, Iguodala cited the Oklahoma City Thunder as the best team in the 2016 NBA postseason, claiming that his own Warriors team was the best team in the regular season.
After superstar forward, Kevin Durant, who played for the Oklahoma City Thunder last year, signed on with the record breaking Warriors team, Iguodala felt comfortable in announcing his beliefs.
“They played us better than anyone,” said Iguodala. “They played us better than Cleveland. Some of the stuff they was doing, it’s like … Oh, man. We gotta play perfect.”
Many believe that the words from Iguodala served a Janus purpose, both to praise his new teammate in Durant and to take a shot at the actual 2016 champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
